We know that cats tend to wander and can expertly return home. But this tuxedo kitty has a way of helping others find their way back!
Hiker and reddit user sc4s2cg got lost in the tiny mountain town of Gimmelwald, Switzerland when an unofficial guide cat came along to sаvе the day!
“Gimmelwald is a tiny, tiny stunningly beautiful village. I actually got ‘lost’ in the surrounding mountains. It was the end of ski season when I got to Lauterbrunnen, so the lifts weren’t working and some of the trails were closed,” he wrote on reddit.
“I was checking my map to see how I can get back to the hostel, and the only official way down was through a trail that was closed. And that’s how I met that handsome cat.”
The kitty seemed to know he was struggling to find the way back to the hostel, and made sure the hiker was close behind as he lead the way!
“She was walking and kept looking at me to follow, led me straight to the path that would take me back down to the valley,” he wrote.
Incredibly, a couple other commenters posted that while hiking through Gimmelwald, they’d met the “guide kitty,” too! (With slightly different markings, perhaps this was a second guide cat?)
“We just met this cat a couple of days ago in Gimmelwald,” wrote reddit user Vasyak.
