Some аbаndоned cats, especially those used to indoor comforts, find themselves at a loss when left to survive outdoors.
That was the case of this homeless cat until a fortune finally smiled upon him. The poor cat was found sitting by the road, in a horrible condition. It seemed as though he was waiting for help, yet he was too scared to approach anyone.
Josie, a compassionate woman who has lived her whole life with cats, was the first to spot him. Leaving him behind wasn’t an option, so she was determined to help.
Josie wanted to take the cat to the vet, as he was clearly dealing with many issues. The cat had matted fur all over his body, and his eyes were barely visible, leading Josie to believe he was blind.
After several failed attempts, Josie finally seized an opportunity when the cat hid under some bushes and managed to catch him.
Surprisingly, the cat didn’t resist or cry out; it was as if he understood that help was on the way.
Josie affectionately named the cat Lucian. She brought him home, fed him, and waited for the vet clinic to open.
After everything he had been through, Lucian remained a lovely and affectionate feline, filling the room with his purring sounds. His charming personality instantly captured Josie’s heart.
After that heartwarming moment, Josie decided to officially adopt Lucian as soon as he got back from the vet clinic. However, one of the vets broke Josie’s heart.
The vet suggested euthanizing Lucian because of his condition. Josie and her husband didn’t want to hear about it. They refused to give up on Lucian, so they contacted an animal rеscuе organization for help.
At the rеscuе, Lucian was shaved to get rid of the matted fur, bathed, dewormed, and received other treatments as well. He was extremely skinny but emerged looking likе a brand-new cat after the makeover.
Lucian was hospitalized and treated to get better, but Josie and her husband kept visiting him every day. Finally, after two and a half months, Josie got a call that Lucian was finally healthy and strong enough to go home.
Josie was overjoyed and Lucian instantly felt at home. He quickly forgot about the harsh, outdoor life and embraced a warm and comfy home next to a loving family.
